Two elderly residents have passed away and several more were taken into the hospital after inspectors had their nursing home shut down. Nursing home negligence appears to be a factor in the decision.
The Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) gained an urgent court order to cancel the registration of Southfield Care Homes in Brackley, U.K. after an inspection found residents to be "at serious risk" as a result of poor conditions.
Eight residents were taken to the hospital and a number of them required medical attention.
Council officials confirmed the death of two of the nursing home residents. Police are assessing the case along with the local health and social care entities and CSCI.
A county council spokesman said "As part of the routine procedures for safeguarding vulnerable adults, used when there is a concern about the quality of care, Northamptonshire Police, together with Commission for Social Care Inspection and other agencies, are examining in more detail the information that is available about the quality of care that was provided."
