A care worker at a nursing home in England was discovered to have hit a wheelchair bound resident and used soiled water to clean another's teeth.
Nina Strange was found guilty of abusing residents in their 70s and 80s at Rutland Manor after a worker came forward to testify against her. This was the third time in three years that staff at this particular nursing home had been investigated.
Strange allegedly hit an 88-year-old wheelchair-bound woman across the back of the head and even pulled a woman's hair as she put her to bed. A witness saw Strange dip a toothbrush in soiled bathwater before using it to brush the woman's teeth.
Strange denied the charges.
A spokesperson for the Commission for Social Care Inspection said: "CSCI has been made aware of incidents at Rutland Manor care home relating to staff, and has confidence that the provider has appropriate safeguarding procedures in place to deal with concerns."
When questioned by the press, Nina Strange declined to comment.
