This Sunday marks the beginning of National Nursing Home Week 2008. National Nursing Home Week is an opportunity for nursing homes to bring awareness to the community about topics such as nursing home abuse and nursing home awareness.

The American Health Care Association (AHCA) will produce a National Nursing Home Week kit that will include an event planning guide, promotional products and a Presidential proclamation. The activities are designed to help nursing home directors present Nursing Home Week in a variety of ways.

The American Health Care Association represents almost 11,000 non-profit and proprietary facilities and is an advocate for the nation's elderly and disabled citizens.
